The staff working inside the market and the meat locker take extraordinary measures to maintain the hygiene and atmosphere inside.
They wear hairnets all the time and take the codes very seriously. The meat locker has around a 100 sides with beef meat hanging from them that are ready to be prepared on the demand of the customers.
Then there is the butcher station, where it is estimated about a hundred pigs and one fifty beef are cut each week to meet consumer demands.
The meat at Duma Meats is fed and prepared by keeping the standards set by the FDA in mind.
Consumers need not worry about their meat containing any antibiotics, hormones, or other kinds of additives.
However, it should be noted that Duma Meats states that their meat is not organic certified as of yet.
Duma Meats suggests if you buy any meat from them that you don’t plan to cook within 24 hours after purchase, you should freeze the meat as soon as possible.
Their meat doesn’t contain any preservatives, so it will go bad if not cared for properly.
Additionally, all pre-packaged meat coming from Duma Meats has a label that states the expiry date on the label just for the customers’ ease.
The meat at Duma Meats is grain-fed and grass-fed. Their beef is fed grass till they weigh 900 lbs. After that, the grass is replaced with grain to help the meat with marbling. This step is introduced towards the end.
Customers can order their bundle items, but the bundle package at Duma Meats is for walk-in items only.
Therefore, customers need to inform the staff 15 minutes before coming to pick up the items as it takes some time to complete the order.
The bundle package consists of frozen meat that is vacuum sealed for the convenience of the customers.
Duma Meats says it’s not necessary to call in advance if customers would like to have meat cut in a specific way. Their butchers are on-site during operational hours, so customers can just walk in and make their requests.
Duma Meats recommends customers try some of their best assortment of meat for grills, including their marinated steaks, T-bone, Rib-eye, New York Strip, Delmonico, and Porterhouse.
Buyers can also request a mixture of the options mentioned above. The ground chuck at Duma Meats is 85-90% lean, and their ground round is 90-95% lean.
Customers can also buy gift cards at one of the registers in the market. The staff says you just have to ask the cashier at the register for one.
Moreover, the farm market also takes payment through EBT cards. However, they don’t accept American Express for payment.
Duma Meats doesn’t butcher their own poultry. The market is not certified to do so as of yet. They obtain their poultry from free-range farms in the US.
Duma Meats also doesn’t deliver their meat to customers for now. Their meat is sold in two locations for the convenience of their customers.
