Is Kirkwood Chicken Halal?

Aldi, a Germany-based international chain of supermarkets, sells items obtained from multiple manufacturers under its private brand name.

One of the most important factors that Aldi can consider when it comes to providing its customers with the best possible food is the fact that 90 percent of its stock is private label.

This ensures that it doesn’t stock major brands and provides customers with quality products at the best possible prices.

The chicken that Aldi sells under the Kirkwood brand is mainly made from chicken thighs, raw breasts, and various other processed products.

These are all processed and packaged under the company’s private label. Tyson chicken is the primary supplier of these products.

Although it seems too good to be true, the Kirkwood brand chicken is the same as the Tyson, a brand sold in thousands of supermarkets across the country.

Seeing that Tyson has not stated any of its products to be halal-certified, the Kirkwood Chicken brand of Aldi is not halal certified either.

Although it is not halal, Aldi still does serve the best possible chicken for its non-Muslim customer base.

Aldi sells chicken under the Never Any! label, which also includes various other food products such as hams, cheese, and sausages.

These products are made with no artificial preservatives or additives, and they are typically labeled as high-quality. These products are USDA-certified, and they do not contain by-products from the animals that the meat came from.

As for the chicken, it’s still Kirkwood brand, and it’s believed that these are the same chickens that were raised at higher standards.

Hence it is advisable to the Muslim community to thoroughly look through labels for halal verification before buying any packaged goods.
