Is KFC Sauce Vegan?

Vegan is a sort of food that is not derived from animals or animal products. A vegan person does not eat any food that comes directly or indirectly from animal sources.

The word “vegan “comes from the word vegetarian, as it is a combination of its first three and last two letters.

On the other hand, food made from animal flesh of chicken, lambs, cows, fish, and seafood is non-vegan.

Being vegan is a philosophical belief that enforces that not harming animals and using animal substitutes is the right way to lead a righteous life.

KFC is a leading fast-food chain worldwide, which began its business with only chicken wings.

KFC serves different sauces such as ranch, honey mustard, and BBQ. It is claimed that the sources are not vegan.

KFC introduced vegan options on its menu in January 2022, but it looks like it only lasted till March. The Beyond Fried Chicken had a lot of vegan and vegetarian-friendly options.

The Beyond Fried Chicken menu included items prepared with vegan ingredients, but chances were the food was made in the same fryer as the chicken.

Studies show that KFC sauce contains non-vegan ingredients such as eggs and milk making it non-vegan. Many vegans are disappointed about this.

However, some locations decided to keep the fryers for animal and vegan products separate.

The only vegan sauces at KFC are ketchup and hot sauce, so vegans are advised to exercise caution when it comes to KFC sauce, ranch, honey BBQ, and honey mustard as they’re not vegan friendly.

Is KFC honey sauce vegan?

No KFC honey sauce is not vegan friendly. Other vegan items at KFC include BBQ baked beans, corn on the cob, sweet kernel corn, secret recipe fries, green beans, house side salad, desserts such as apple turnover, strawberry jam packet, and lemon juice packet.

However, some of these items may contain corn syrup, artificial colors, sugars, caramel colors, and MSG. It’s recommended to ask your server about this if it’s something that bothers you.

Before ordering hot sauce at KFC, confirm if it’s suitable for vegans, as not all locations carry vegan hot sauce.
